The Italian Society of Intensive Care (ISIC) has the main aim in developing and improving the critical care medicine from scientific and educational point of view. The Society contributes to the development of the discipline, stimulating research, collecting and spreading information. Moreover, the ISIC provides technical and methodological advices, it encourages and promotes the training of qualified personnel by organizing and maintaining relationships with Italian and foreign Societies which have common objectives. In addition, the ISIC aims to protect the moral and professional values ​​of those who devote themselves to the study and practice of this discipline.
